This week as I was preparing for a sermon about the poor and the oppressed, I was reminded of this convicting clip in Hotel Rwanda. It is a film that talks about the genocide of 800,000 pople in 100 days in Rwanda in 1994. Just as a comparison: 2700 people died in the Twin towers and the Pentagon on 9-11.

"and then go on eating their dinners..." pretty convicting. i think about darfur, myanmar - all of the atrocities that are going on even now - and i feel overwhelmed. i am thankful that we have a god that is sovereign. i pray that i will not be too lured by our western comforts to help the oppressed of this world. i pray that all of us will feel that weight.
I'm glad you posted this clip. It reminded me of the documentary I saw last year The Devil Came on Horseback. Extremely convicting footage about what's happening now in Darfur.
